On 5-12 December Zverev Centre for Modern Art holds the second exhibition of works by BHSAD tutors under the title of Pushpin Museum. In their works, our tutors from abroad attempted to reflect their personal attitude to life in post-Soviet space and give an expat's view on local culture in general.


Accompanied by Programme Leaders, Joseph Van der Steen and James O’Brien, students discovered Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi. Being effected by both cultural and architectural peculiarities, students invested thoughts and ideas into work at School’s studios.


On November 20th British Higher School of Art and Design hosted a public talk with Jonathan Anderson, founder of J.W. Anderson apparel brand and creative director of Loewe fashion house. The event was organized by Buro 24/7 portal and was moderated by Miroslava Duma.


Kira Fetisova, student of Fashion design basic CPD course, won a contest set up by CINZANO brand and Internet retailer TRANDS BRANDS. A dress created by Kira was complimented by the jury who gave it a well-deserved first place.


Students of Interior Design CPD programme Maria Petrova and Elena Andronova won at Reload my Pharmacy contest organized by L'Oréal. They were given an opportunity to present their project on an international stage in Barcelona, competing with students of world's best architectural schools.


Graduates from Interior Design basic CPD programme Victoria Korneyeva and Natalia Yevstafyeva won an opportunity to create a new library for Gubkin Oil & Gas University's new building in 2011. The project took four years to implement, and finally the library was opened to public, surprising the students with its interesting interior design solutions.


Derek Breen, head of educational design group at MIT Media Lab, held a workshop at BHSAD on October 31st. The event was part of the Open Innovations Forum. Mr Breen spoke to the participants about an unconventional virtual programming language called Scratch that allows even a first grader to create his own short animation or video game.


On November 2nd Jim Morris, president of Pixar Animation Studios, spoke in front of a vast audience of fans and industry representatives gathered in the School. He told about major landmarks in the company's history and stressed that in order to create animated films that match Pixar's one has to study hard and for a long time.


Ms. Nüssli gave a lecture on her work before running a creative workshop with inks, brushes and two big pieces of paper. Students spent the day working in two large groups producing two huge drawings.


Yekaterina Lubimova and Alisa Minkina, graduates of BA (Hons) Product Design programme, took second and third places in a prestigious contest held during Moscow furniture and interior exhibition I Saloni. The skills the two designers acquired while studying at the British Higher School of Art and Design helped them find unconventional solutions and win the hearts of the jury.


This year's showcase featured the strongest and most dynamic collections from 6 graduates, showing a diverse range of talent, skill and creative endeavor within the discipline: Anna Tsykunova, Sasha Feoktistova, Anna Golovina, Anna Kreidenko, Marina Rainina, and Ekaterina Shtepa.


This event was first initiated by the influential comics theorist, Scott McCloud and has grown to become a annual international event. The challenge is to create a finished 24-page comic in a 24-hour period.


The 30th Helsinki Comics Festival took place at Lasipalatsi Square and nearby venues in Central Helsinki, Finland. It is the largest comic-related event in Finland and Northern Europe. The programme consisted of interviews, lectures, discussions, exhibitions, workshops, performances, competitions, signings and evening events.


Students from BA (Hons) Illustration and BA (Hons) Graphic Design recently visited London, accompanied by BA (Hons) Illustration tutors, Christopher Rainbow and Evgenia Barinova. A busy itinerary took in the National Gallery, Tate Modern, Saatchi Gallery, British Library, National Portrait Gallery, Wellcome Collection, House of Illustration, Bankside Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Serpentine Gallery.


The workshop of the famous German artist took place in Moscow, in the The Hangar of salvation emergency center for homeless people. Being mentored by Olivier Kugler the students practiced in drawing trying to understand the nature of each visitor of the center in order to depict them fast and fairly.


A Slashstroke Project explores creative DNA through design, content and process with BA (Hons) Fashion students from the British Higher School of Art and Design Moscow and Fashion Communication & Styling students from Middlesex University London


Alisa Kuzembaeva and Dasha Selyanova have been named among 14 top Russian fashion designers by the affluent Afisha magazine.


The exhibition represented the best selection of BA (Hons) student work which span fashion collections, video, graphics, drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, multi-media installation, digital art and more.

Studio Arttex, which takes a leading share of curtain poles and accessories in the Russian market, has run a competition that aimed to create a floral pattern for blinds related to Russian heritage. 1st Year BA Illustration student has won the first prize representing the Kalina layout.


A short but inspiring report on the annual trip to Berlin. The students were asked to sketch everything they found inspiring - places, people, objects and then make their very own special zine, using materials and drawings of their choice.


BA (Hons) Fashion students spent four days working on a project with Dora Szilagyi, a Senior Designer at Adidas. The project was focused on the sportswear and its functionality and performance. The idea was to replicate a six-month process in four days where students had to go through the entire cycle of producing a collection - researching ideas, theme development, sampling, creating a garment prototype. We have met with Dora to talk about her most important project, role models and Russian students.


The Hackathon Robodesign, a 3-day marathon for industrial designers took place on 20-22 March, as a part of the 2015 Skolkovo Robotics Conference. Tasks were set by robot developers, residents of robotic centre in Skolkovo


30 BA (Hons) Illustration students, alumni and staff presented substantial exhibition in Lucerne, Switzerland


The long awaited results of the Cinzano competition that started last autumn were finally announced in February
